Diego is VP Marketing at mimik. He has more than 16 years of experience as a senior executive in the digital media industry. Prior to mimik, Diego was the corporate CIO and member of several management committees of the PRISA Group (Leading Media Group in Spain and Latin America), as well as CDO (Chief Digital Officer) at Canal+ (Leading Pay TV provider in Spain now part of Telefonica).

 

As CDO he was in charge of digital strategy of the company and in 2010 led the launch of “YOMVI de Canal+” the first Over The Top (OTT) and TV everywhere (multidevice) linear and Video-on-Demand (VOD) pay TV service in Europe launched by a Direct-to-Home (DTH) company. He established a Business to Consumer (B2C) channel for Canal+ content as well as a Business-to-Business (B2B) channel signing up large Telco customers. After acquisition of Canal+ by Telefonica in 2014, YOMVI de Canal+ has being chosen as the OTT everywhere service for all Telefonica customers.

 

Diego is a seasoned technologist and marketer and has overlooked a number of initiatives including the complete outsourcing of IT services into a single external multinational company or the integration of all communications into a single Network Operations Center (NOC), in both cases for all Business Units at Prisa Group (News, Radio, TV and Education) in Spain and all Latin America countries.

 

Diego holds a Master on Aerospace Engineering from Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain) and an MBA from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles (USA).
