Siavash Alamouti has over 20 years of experience in the communications industry. He is most well known for the invention of the Alamouti code which laid the foundation for the real-life application of MIMO technology and is adopted in almost all wireless standards globally.
He has received more than 19.000 citations for his scientific work and has received multiple industry awards. He has been the leading champion for groundbreaking technologies such as OFDM/MIMO, Mobile WiMAX and WiGig and has a reputation for passionately pushing the industry to new limits of the technology for the benefit of mankind.
Prior to mimik he was the Group R&D Director for Vodafone where he managed R&D, corporate venture and IPR for the entire group. Before Vodafone he was an Intel Fellow and CTO of The Mobile Wireless Group where he championed Mobile WiMAX and WiGig technologies. Prior to Intel he was the CTO at the startup Vivato (the first smart antenna WiFi company) and before Vivato, he worked in various capacities at Cadence Design Systems, AT&T Wireless, and MPR Teltech.
Siavash received B.A.Sc and the M.A.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, in 1989 and 1991, respectively.
Cofounder, Product Development
Fay Arjomandi is leading product development at mimik. From August 2014 to September 2016 she was the CEO of group of mobile companies under Nantworks, including Tensorcom, Nantmobile and Mobile genomic health leading the consumerization health solutions.
Prior to NantWorks, Fay was the CEO of Vodafone xone where she brought an extensive wealth of expertise as an extraordinary entrepreneur to Vodafone’s new heart of innovation. Fay successfully launched Vodafone xone in Silicon Valley in September 2011, which became the global incubation center of the Vodafone Group and the beta brand for Vodafone consumer in UK, Italy, Spain, Germany and Egypt. Fay spearheaded the partnership work with emerging and disruptive technologies to enable start-up companies to develop, test and prepare for commercial deployment in global markets. Additionally, her role expanded to lead Vodafone Ventures, the strategic corporate venture capital arm of Vodafone Group. Fay’s broad range of roles at the company also included being the President of Vodafone Americas Foundation, an outreach program whose mission is to mobilize communities to resolve shared problems and to enable mobile technology to advance social change In addition to exceptional leadership and vision.
Prior to Vodafone, Fay was the co-founder and CEO three start-up companies L3 Technology, Mobidia, and Disternet (now mimiktech). As a pragmatic technology innovator, Fay has authored 12 patents. In 2014, she was named as one of the most influential women business leader in Silicon Valley by San Francisco Business Week, and in 2006, received the distinguished Business In Vancouver’s “Top 40 Under 40” award presented to outstanding leaders in their chosen fields. In 2007, she was the Canadian technology and innovation representative to the White House. Fay is a highly sought-after global speaker and industry thought leader given her specialization in wireless communications, software applications and protocol development. Fay is also currently the Chairman of H2 Wellness and Advisor to Studytracks.
Cofounder, Chief Scientist
Sharif is responsible for innovation roadmap at mimik. He has a proven track record in wireless technologies with over 20 years of innovation experience in radio frequency, multimedia, protocol, hardware and software design and implementation. Sharif is an expert in spread spectrum technology and radio link protocols. He has extensive knowledge and experience with applications running over wireless data networks, and a deep understanding of the OSI reference model and operating system designs.
Prior to co-founding mimik, he registered a total of 29 patents and co-founded L3 Technology, Mobidia, L2Protocol and DCPower. He was the chief scientist and architect at all these companies.
Sharif holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University specializing in Telecommunications.
Prior to mimik, Michel was the CTO of NantMobile. He was responsible for the definition, implementation and deployment of the platform and back-end services support.
Prior to joining NantMobile, Michel Burger was the lead architect for the service providers and IOT at Apigee, Head of Architecture for Vodafone Internet Services with the responsibility of managing the end to end architecture to deliver digital services within Vodafone operating companies. In 2011, Michel became a Vodafone distinguished engineer and was appointed Chief Architect for the R&D division in Vodafone Technology to define the next generation cloud service platform for Vodafone.
Prior to joining Vodafone, Michel was the CTO of the Communications Sector at Microsoft (creating a product called CSF for Communication Service Provider and defining the service delivery environment for Microsoft Online Services), CTO at Embrace Networks (an M2M company) and director of innovation at Sapient (focusing on pervasive systems and web services). He also spent 12 years in a variety of technical positions at Nortel Networks, including Web technology pioneer.
In addition, Michel has been granted multiple patents on various technology domains and is a member of the technical executive committee and Distinguished Fellow at the TM Forum. He has spoken at many industry events, including O’Reilly Emerging Technologies, MWC, CTIA, NXTcomm, Lightreading and TM World. Michel is also the CTO of H2 Wellness.
VP, Worldwide Sales & Business Development
Sam is an experienced executive in the software technology sector. She brings a diverse skill set and expertise to mimik, including sales, business strategy, product management, and engineering. She has been with the company from an early stage and has made significant contributions to the development of the company and its products.
Prior to joining mimik in 2010, she held key leading positions at startups Mobidia and L3 Technology and before that she was with Sage Software. At Mobidia, Sam was part of a leading sales team, worked closely with the sales and engineering teams internally and held a key customer facing position focused on delivering network optimization solutions to large mobile operators. At Sage she held various positions including leading a product specialists team and delivering the right business software solutions to the business partners channel.
Sam holds B.A.Sc and M.E. degrees in Electro Mechanical Engineering from University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, Canada.
Diego Corraliza has more than 16 years of experience as a senior executive in the digital media industry. Prior to mimik, Diego was the corporate CIO and member of several management committees of the PRISA Group (Leading Media Group in Spain and Latin America), as well as CDO (Chief Digital Officer) at Canal+ (Leading Pay TV provider in Spain now part of Telefonica). As CDO he was in charge of digital strategy of the company and in 2010 led the launch of “YOMVI de Canal+” the first Over The Top (OTT) and TV everywhere (multidevice) linear and Video-on-Demand (VOD) pay TV service in Europe launched by a Direct-to-Home (DTH) company. He established a Business to Consumer (B2C) channel for Canal+ content as well as a Business-to-Business (B2B) channel signing up large Telco customers. After acquisition of Canal+ by Telefonica in 2014, YOMVI de Canal+ has being chosen as the OTT everywhere service for all Telefonica customers. Diego is a seasoned technologist and marketer and has overlooked a number of initiatives including the complete outsourcing of IT services into a single external multinational company or the integration of all communications into a single Network Operations Center (NOC), in both cases for all Business Units at Prisa Group (News, Radio, TV and Education) in Spain and all Latin America countries.
Diego holds a Master on Aerospace Engineering from Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain) and an MBA from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles (USA).
